Roanoke’s emergence as a vibrant hub for live music reached a defining moment on New Year’s Eve with the debut of its new, premier venue, The Exchange Music Hall. Anchored at the very crossroads of Downtown Roanoke in the historic First National Exchange Bank, The Exchange opened its doors as both centerpiece and catalyst, commanding attention with an inaugural performance on NYE by rock-and-roll powerhouse Grace Potter and forthcoming year-round concert calendar. The Exchange is part of a larger family, complimented in close company with The Promissory, a 27-room boutique hotel, and ¡Suerte!, an authentic Spanish restaurant located in the building’s vibrant atrium.

201 S. Jefferson St., Roanoke, VA 24011, located in the historic former home of Downtown Roanoke’s First National Exchange Bank.

Door times vary depending on the event. Please check the event page for the most accurate information about your show. In general, doors open approximately 60 minutes before the first scheduled performance. With a standing capacity of up to 900, The Exchange adapts to each performance — whether it’s an intimate acoustic set or a high-energy show — to create the ideal atmosphere for every event. Shows will predominantly be standing-room-only unless otherwise specified.

Re-entry policies vary by show. For most shows, credentialed guests will be allowed to come and go from The Exchange, within reason, and determined by event staff.

Not a good idea, as, sadly, scammers are more prolific than ever, and protecting our customers is our No. 1 job! If a show is not sold out, it’s always best to purchase directly from The Exchange’s official ticket page.

We love having photographers and videographers at The Exchange, but if you’re not a credentialed member of the media or news, please reach out to us for pre-approval at least 48 hours before shooting an event (earlier if possible). This includes professional, freelance, personal, and content-creation shoots. We’re happy to chat about what you have in mind and, when possible, find a way to make it work with our performers.

Note: Not all photographers and videographers will be approved to shoot a show, and the earlier your request, the more likely you are to be approved. Please don’t show up with a camera and assume you’re cleared to shoot. A nice camera is not an all-access pass.

To request photography and/or videography access, please email our Marketing Director, Matt Wirt, at matt@atwproductions.com.
